Interview With Corbin Bleu

Corbin Bleu sat down with Allison Levitsky, Contra Costa Times Teen Correspondent. Here are a few questions Corbin answered. You can find some of the other ones on www.insidebayarea.com.
Q: You performed at the Kids’ Inaugural concert. What was that like?
A: That was incredible. First of all, I’ve been a major Obama supporter from the beginning. Just to be able to get invited to perform as part of the inauguration celebration, I was honored. I got a chance to meet Michelle and the first daughters. It was amazing just to be there — freezing cold, but it was just incredible to be there.
Q: Have you had the chance to meet the president?
A: No, I haven’t, but hopefully one day (laughs) I would hope so. This is actually my first year voting.
Q: Do you ever look online, to see what people are saying about you?
A: No, I can’t. I hate doing that. I never look online. I never leave comments about anything. There’s a certain line, I think, that you just cross when you start to do that. You read them sometimes, and even if you’re not a person that usually lets that affect you, at a certain point, it does start to affect you. You just need to focus on what you need to do, on your work.
Q: What advice do you have for young people who want to make it in show business?
A: Do it because you love doing it. Always know that there’s always improvement to be had, and just continue to work. Never get discouraged. There are going to be times when you are going to doubt yourself, or when people will try to make you doubt yourself. You just have to know that if you put your mind to it, you can do it.
